Sue (Coggins) Handy

Sue Coggins Handy, 77, of Archdale, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at her home.

Born April 16, 1947, in Guilford County, she was a daughter to the late Virgus Coggins and the late Hazel Luck Coggins. Sue worked at Archdale Trinity Middle School for 10 years before becoming the office manager for Handy’s Garbage Service. After retirement in 2010, she enjoyed extensive traveling with her best friend, Carol Brown. Sue especially enjoyed going to her and Farrell’s mountain house in Elk Creek, VA.  She was also very active in many aspects of her church, Archdale Family Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband, Farrell Handy of the home; son, Jason Handy of Petersburg, VA; daughter, April Wilson of Archdale; brothers, Butch Coggins (Rhonda) of Florida and David Coggins (Amy Ewing) of Kernersville; sister, Lisa Coggins of Tennessee; granddaughters, Tristan Wilson and Lexi Wilson; and great grandchildren; Lucia Hitcho and Tobi Hitcho.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Coggins.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2024, in the Archdale Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. Tommy Thompson and Rev. Steve Hedgecock officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
