Randall Thomas Johnson

Randall Thomas Johnson, 90, of High Point, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at his home.

Born April 27, 1934, in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Richard Randall Johnson and the late Lassie Cagle Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime friend, Robert Voytershark.

Mr. Johnson grew up in High Point and was a 1951 graduate of High Point High School. Later, he went on to attend Duke University and graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, where he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. Following graduation, he settled in the Miami, FL area, where he had a successful career as a food broker.

While living in Coral Gables, he loved Fairchild Tropical Botantic Gardens and was a big supporter. Randall loved all things beautiful, nature, the arts, and music. He loved people and was very friendly; always eager to meet people and make friends. He enjoyed travel and good food as well.

Mr. Johnson was a published author having published two books. After retiring in the early 90's, he moved back to High Point to be closer to his mother. Randall loved High Point and was a supporter of High Point University, The High Point Museum, and the arts of High Point and the Triad area. He served on the board of visitors at HPU and also on the board at the High Point Museum.

Those left to cherish his memory; several cousins and many friends.

Memorial Service will be 2:00PM Monday, July 29, 2024, in the Hayworth Chapel at High Point University with the Reverend Dr. Preston Davis officiating.

Internment will be private at Guilford Memorial Park Historical Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be directed to High Point University, 1 N. University Parkway, High Point, NC  27262; High Point Museum, 1859 E. Lexington Avenue, High Point, NC  27262  or the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1803 Westchester Dr, High Point, NC  27262.
