Monique Leanna Peterkin was born May 8, 1979 and passed away peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 26, 2024 at the Hospice House of High Point.
Monique is survived by her brother Morris Peterkin Jr. and a host of extended family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her Mother Barbara Jean Peterkin, Father Morris Cardoze Peterkin Sr., and her beloved dog Southpaw. She loved and adored her parents and big brother. Monique was a good and loyal friend to have.
Monique had a passion for learning. She obtained her Master's Degree in Psychology, as she loved guiding people. She spoke Spanish fluently. She was an avid piano player and loved to sing.
Her deepest passion was her love for God. She had a deep spiritual connection and understanding. She loved sharing that message with anyone she met. Monique had an old soul.
Monique had a great capacity to take personal adversity and refrain her experience to support others challenges. Through her many obstacles, she found meaning and purpose. Even during her passing process, she provided light, love, comfort, encouragement, and guidance to those she encountered. She always had an encouraging word and gave all the Glory to God.
One of her favorite sayings was "Trust God's Timing in Everything".
A few of her favorite Bible verses were Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own understanding and verse 6 in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Psalms 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in Joy.
Monique was laid to her everlasting rest at a private burial ceremony with All Souls Natural Burial in Greensboro, North Carolina.
