Marilyn Hoke Kearns, 90, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Born September 29, 1933, in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Russell Knox Hoke and the late Pearl Tucker Hoke. She worked for the High Point Police Department as a school crossing guard at Oakview Elementary School for thirty-seven years and was a lifelong member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. Her family, church and friends were her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kearns, brothers, Herman Hoke and Bill Hoke, sisters, Jane Hinkle and Edith Hoke, and granddaughter, Caroline Kearns.
She is survived by two sons, Andy Kearns (fiancé, Donna Hughes) of Trinity and Tim Kearns (wife, Mary) of Wallburg; three grandchildren, Brandon Kearns (girlfriend, Kori Shadrick), Brian Kearns (wife, Brittany) and Christina Kearns; one great-grandson, Mason Kearns; and her beloved dog, Taco.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Reverend Joseph Kim officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service.
