Linda (Hopkins) Vick

Linda Hopkins Vick, 78, of Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1946, in Clover, SC. Linda retired as a postal clerk for the US Postal Service with 31years of service. She was a long-time member of Jamestown Church of God, where she served as a church secretary. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and Delbert were married on October 18, 1963, giving them 60 years together.

Linda would often talk of the "good old days" and of how she remembered church. She sang in the church choir and with the ladies’ trio. The old Southern Gospel Hymns were her favorites. At home, she enjoyed sitting on her covered porch, listening to her music on warm summer days.

She dearly loved her family; the holidays were her favorite times. She especially loved watching everyone spend time together and having the grandkids read the birth of Jesus from the Bible.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Vick of the home; sons, Phillip Vick of Archdale and Kevin Vick (Gwen) of Archdale; daughter, Donna Howard (Farris) of Archdale; grandchildren, Megan Varner ( Adam), Meredith Poteat (Brittney), Austin Howard, Jordan Vick ( Ashlyn Fisher), Hailey Vick, Jillian Vick, Holden Vick, Madison Vick (Cody Nettles), Connor Vick; great grandchildren, Davis Varner, Reese Varner, Berkley Poteat, Emerson Poteat, Bodhi Poteat, Raylan Vick, and Aspen Nettles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Vick and her brother, Jerry Hopkins.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM Friday, July 19, 2024, in the Archdale chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. Troy Wilham officiating. The burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM prior to the service.
