Johnny Page Compton of Greensboro went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 4, 2023. He was born March 30, 1945, in Danville, VA to the late Alma Puckett Compton Dean and Roy Compton.
Johnny graduated from Grimsley Senior High School. He attended Durham Institute of Barbering and Leon’s Beauty School becoming a barber and cosmetologist. He was the proud owner of Johnny Compton’s Hair Design, Inc. in Roxboro for 20 years. He loved his profession. He loved the time that he spent working with his best friend, Eddie Goins, at Eddie’s business, The Raveen Hair Replacement. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, fishing, gardening, playing the guitar, journaling, reading his Bible, Christian television, walks in the park, and watching golf on TV. Johnny and Betty enjoyed a quiet life.
Johnny suffered his entire life from epilepsy. Despite this affliction, he never lost his faith in his Lord Jesus and received his strength from God. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Betty Compton, and his brother Leroy Compton.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Compton (Brenda McGhee) and his 3 step-daughters Marta (Duane) Richardson, Kay (David) Moore, Barbara (Bob) Koenig, and 8 step-grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Moore, Sarah, Janke, and Rebekah Richardson and Rae, Abbey and Lydia Koenig.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro.
The family will visit with from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM, prior to the service.
