David Lee Akey

David Lee Akey, 79, of High Point, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at High Point Medical Center.

Born September 26, 1941, in Massillon, Ohio, he was a son to the late Delbert Akey and the late Lola Akey.  David was a retired fireman and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Mr. Akey was a Grand Knight with The Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sherrill Akey of the home; sons, Larry Hamill, Kenneth Hamill, and Michael Hamill (Nancy); daughters, Yvonne Craver (Rick) and Elizabeth Akey; step-daughter, Sherrill Bounds (Robert); brother, Lynn Akey; half -brother, Jeff Akey; sister Linda Heavern; half-sister, Carol Clark (David); grandchildren, Emily Tamas, Daniel Craver, Taran Hamill, and Brandon Clem (Alexis); great grandchildren; Julia Hamill, Miranda Hamill (Zack), Logan Bound (Kaitt), Wyatt Bounds, Genevieve Thomas, Bennett Thomas, Donovan Thomas, Cass Clem, and Dawson Clem.
