Ronald Gene Talmadge, 78, of High Point, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 29, 2018, at home with his family by his side.

Born June 8, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Frank Talmadge and the late Marie Faber Hirniak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Emil Hirniak; infant daughter, Christine Louise; brother, George Hirniak; sisters, Arline Frederick and Linda Goodall.

Daddy was a proud US Marine Corp veteran having served from 1958-1962. He always said, “Once a Marine always a Marine Semper FI”. Daddy loved music, especially beach music, the beach, shagging, whistling a beautiful song, and fishing whether it be at the beach or a pond. Daddy’s pride and joy was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Gina Eller, Danny Talmadge (Karen), Emily Wharton (Paul), Julie Byrd (Rodney) and their mother Frances Talmadge; grandchildren, Jon Byrd (Sarah Lynn), Rebekah Long (Chris), Cory Eller (KC), Nicholas Byrd (Amy), Gregory Wharton (Ashlynne), Allison Eller, Sarah Byrd (Romelo); great-grandchildren, Bennett and Jena Byrd, Ellie Kate and Davis Long, Emma and Nathan Eller, Summer and Shyanne Johnson, Lynol Bogden; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be at a later date.
