Frederick (Fred) A. Thomas, III, a lifelong resident of High Point, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Fred attended local schools, graduated from Woodberry Forest Prep School located in Virginia, and was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill in economics. He was involved in many business and civic positions in the High Point area. Fred was also a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, vice president and president of Thomas Furniture Company, production manager of Casa Bisque in Thomasville, assistant manager of New York Carpet World, and flooring specialist of the High Point Home Depot. He was an avid golfer and a member of High Point and Willow Creek Country Club. His many civic involvements were blood drive chairman of the Red Cross, the board of directors of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are, Jupy Stout, Lane Zamora, Jan Thomas, Mary Alice Lebetkin, Florence Betts, Robin Thomas, and Peggy Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick A. Thomas Jr and Frances C. Thomas, most recently his sister, Craig A. Thomas.

Services will be private.

A special thanks to the staff at Pine Ridge, to Dr. George Sanders and staff, and especially the wonderful care and kindness of the staff at Hospice of the Piedmont.
