Clyde Wilburn Gillespie

Clyde Wilburn Gillespie, 85, of High Point, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Born October 7, 1933, in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Clyde Walker Gillespie and the late Edna Dennis Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie served in the National Guard and was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife Lona Smith Gillespie of the home; son, Billy Birchfield of Winston-Salem, daughters, Carmen Baker of Asheboro, Patty Davidson of Randleman, Sharon Gonzales of Asheboro, De Dee Bullard of Thomasville, and Susie Williams of Robbinsville; brother, Beverly Ray Gillespie and wife Kathy of High Point; sister, Carol Irvin of Lexington, and Gretchen Terry of Georgia; nine grandchildren, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Dennis Lee Gillespie, and Beverly Wayne Gillespie; and brother, Lowell Wayne Gillespie.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Floral Garden Park.
