On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, Alan Boyd MacKeraghan, loving father of three and a friend of many, passed away at the age of 82.

Alan was born on June 11, 1937, in Auburn, NY. Alan served proudly in the United States Navy as a cook on the USS Lake Champlain from 1955 - 1959. Throughout his life, Alan worked doing what he loved to do, being a freelance artist. He is known for his artwork in the furniture market, several places in the High Point area including the tunnel at High Point Regional Hospital, and he was one of Roy’s folks. Alan was very active throughout his life with the High Point Arts Guild and the High Point Community Theatre.

Alan was preceded in death by both of his parents and his only brother.

He leaves behind 3 children, Marc MacKeraghan of High Point, Eric MacKeraghan of Pleasant Garden, and Beth Kennedy of Jamestown; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the Gathering Room of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Pastor Stephen Saunders officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
